Horse areas for new builds and conversions
We can part build horse areas for customers and we will tailor the length of your horsebox and horse area to your requirements. This has become very popular over the past few years for conversions and home builds. When converting some horseboxes the overhang behind the wheels is far too great. In these cases we can shorten the length of the body. Usually we fit new rear frames too so the cost of shortening is minimal.
We can give good advice as to how the horses and load should sit over the rear axle. Please note a horsebox can be under weight fully loaded and still fail on axle loading.
Our horsebox horse area - whether it be a ladies horsebox for ponies, or a larger horsebox for hunters, it has to be hardwearing. After fitting the partition rails we coat the whole area up to waist height with Coat-X protective coating. www.coat-x.co.uk. We put waste pipes at the bulkhead of the horsebox to drain away any liquid without it touching the chassis underside. These are sprayed in Coat-X protective coatings. If you have chosen tack lockers in the horse area these are also sprayed in Coat-X protective coating. The upper walls and ceiling of the horsebox are white for easy cleaning with LED lights fitted for low power consumption. The horse area lights can be set to blue or white for night time use and can be operated from the living area. Ventilation comes from four half drop windows with bars in the near side wall and vent windows in the tail end. Fans, vents and air conditioning can be fitted in our horseboxes. Again, like our ramps the horse area is maintenance free.
